Shadwell in London is part of Tower Hamlets, with Watney Market, rail connections and the former dock landscape of Shadwell Basin. Shadwell near Leeds is a West Yorkshire village, where Main Street, the library and village hall provide starting points for exploring local life. They share a name, but they are very different destinations.

Shadwell Basin is a distinctive reminder of the area’s dockland setting. The Outdoor Activity Centre uses this waterside location for organised water sports and adventurous activities. Contact the centre about the activity, age group and arrangements that interest you. Organised participation is different from treating the basin as an unrestricted swimming spot.
